How to Use XL EDC-1874 for disinfection of RO System?
For disinfection of RO System prepare dilute solution in purified water, of 1% XL-EDC 1874. To prepare 1% XL EDC-1874.
QUALITY OF WATER: PURIFIED WATER SHOULD BE USED FOR DILUTION.

Ã˜ Prepare a 1% XL EDC-1874 solution in required quantity to completely fill in the system to be disinfected.
Ã˜ Run 1% XL EDC-1874 solution inside the system and increase the normal flow rate to get a turbulent flow.
Ã˜ For a regular disinfection, fill XL EDC-1874 for 01 hour.
Ã˜ Circulate for 15 minutes, soak for 30 minutes and re-circulate for 15 minutes.
Ã˜ For a bio film removal, total contact time should be between 4 and 12 hours with alternating circulation for 30 minutes
Ã˜ Between each of these treatments efficient rinsing steps is recommended to remove the extracted cells out of the bio film
Ã˜ After completion of contact time, drain XL EDC-1874.
Ã˜ Drain waste water in normal way.
Ã˜ Rinse the water system several times until it is absolutely free of residues.
Disinfection of resin beds and activated carbon beds:
Ã˜ The resins or carbon bottle shall be disconnected from the water system and drain the water inside.
Ã˜ The bottle shall be slowly filled up with a 1% XL EDC-1874 solution.
Ã˜ Fill the bottle up from bottom to top using the right connection side. The other connection remains open.
Ã˜ Fill completely with XL EDC-1874 solution. Keep it for 01 hour.
Ã˜ Connect the inlet and rinse with fresh water.
How to disinfect RO system?
Ã˜ Disconnect the RO System from the water system and fill out the water.
Ã˜ The 1% XL EDC-1874 solution is prepared in a small separate tank according to volume required by RO system
Ã˜ A booster pump (centrifuge pump) will be used to pump the 1% XL EDC-1874 solution from the tank to the RO system using the normal inlet connection.
Ã˜ Connect the pump to the RO inlet and come back with the permeate and retentate tubes into the tank.
Ã˜ 1hour (Circulate-15 minutes, soak-30 minutes and re-circulate-15 minutes)
Ã˜ Connect the RO system to the regular installation and switch it on.
Ã˜ Drains both permeate and concentrate for 15 minutes.
